God Eater 2 (ゴッドイーター2) is the sequel to God Eater Burst. It has been announced that it will be a simultaneous PSP and HD Vita release, and is scheduled to be released in 2013. D3Publisher has not made any announcement on plans of localization as of yet.

Story

The game takes place 3 years after the original. A new fatal pandemic, the "Black Plague" (黑蛛病) which has no known cure and is caused by coming into contact with "Red Rain" has struck the Far East Branch. Members of Special Forces "Blood", an affiliate of Fenrir who reside in a mobile base, are sent to investigate. In addition to the current fields, places outside of the Far East Branch will be visited.
New Weapons & MechanicsEdit

| Guns that specialise in Scatter bullets. Average firing rate, allows Rush Fire (R+Circle), which does a quick rush forward, which you can chain into a shot. |

| Blades that specialise in Crush. Slow attack rate, allows Charge Stance (R+ Square), which opens up the rocket vent for boosted combos. |
|
| Blades that specialise in Pierce. Fast attack rate, allows Charge Glide, which does extreme damage, as well as cancels into an evasive backflip anytime during a ground combo and while guarding. |

| The evolution of blade attacks, which add additional effects to all manner of blade attacks (basic combos, aerial attacks, Impulse Edge, charged attacks etc.). Most are gained through natural usage of equipment, while some require specific missions to unlock them. |

Engagement System | Allows you to share status bars with a teammate (namely, the OP bar), enabling one to go full gun in battle. It's hinted that this could pave the way for even higher OP consuming bullets/recipes.
As the Engagement System has not made any appearance since its introduction, its inclusion in the game is now unconfirmed. |
 
New Equipment Branches | New equipment can be made with the new Aragami materials. Existing Aragami materials will still be in use and can be used to craft their branches for the new blade types. |

New AragamiEdit
| The Marduk is a wolf-like Aragami which resembles the Vajra family. Its howl can summon Red Rain which has a profound effect on Aragami. It is able to generate pure energy with its front legs. |
| The Ukonvasara is a crocodile-like Aragami which resembles the Gboro-Gboro family. It is able to fire electric bolts which are generated by the turbine on its back. It is aquatic and can swim through water. |
| The Demiurge is a strange Aragami that spouts a human face like the Prithvi Mata does. It is able to stretch its thick limbs at will, and flash freezes those who stay out of its reach. |

The God Arc Soldiers are cyborgs resembling God Eaters. They appear to be manufactured by Fenrir. Their allegiance has not been made clear as of yet. However, they have been shown in screenshots accompanying the protagonist. |

It has not been confirmed whether the protagonist is the same exact protagonist as God Eater Burst or not, however it is unlikely as the new protagonist wears the black armlet of the "Blood Unit" while the original protagonist has the red armlet of the Far East Branch. |
| A member of special forces "Blood", Blood Unit. Excels in fighting ability and military tactics, and is the head of the Blood Unit. Ciel Alencon acts as his bodyguard. |
| A member of special forces "Blood". She has a calm demeanour, but can hold a gun in times of crisis. She cares deeply for Julius Visconti and acts as his bodyguard. |

| A member of special forces "Blood". Has a cheerful nature coupled with a voracious appetite. Orphaned from young, she does not recall nor want to talk about her past. |
| A member of special forces "Blood". He is generally a nice guy but at the same time, quite a lowbrow. He seems to know a lot about fashion and idols. His reason for joining Blood still remains a mystery. |

Radio Support System | Hibari will be providing radio assistance during battles. Other NPCs may use the system as well. |
Character Episodes | Optional character specific missions that can be used to evolve their Blood Arts. Unlike God Eater Burst, no character will be treated as a side character. |
Revamped Challenge Missions | Challenge Missions will be increased in difficulty. Some Aragami will appear exclusively in these missions and not during the story. It has been stated that Alisa will not appear in the story missions, but will be recruitable in the challenge missions. |
| Data Importation has been confirmed. As of now, it is known that only equipment can be transferred. Data Importation DLC has been planned for God Eater Burst JP and will be released on June 6, 2013. |

Character Creation | Hairstyles and Eye colors can now be adjustable in RGB Values. Skintone can now be adjustable in Brightness as well. Accessories have been added. Clothing choice at Character Creation has been removed, but this can be changed later and anytime in game. |
