Ogretail
Ougateiru
Item Prefix: Ogre
Origin: America
Breakable Parts: None
Attribute: None
Weak Point: Torso
Elemental Weakness: Blaze/Freeze/Spark
Related Species
NORN

A smaller Aragami with a giant tail sporting an ogre-like face. Mainly devours corpses of other Aragami. Increasing in number in various regions. First appeared on the American Continent: now boasts the largest population of all Aragami. Not particularly difficult to take out when attacking from the side. Still, as its tail-spinning attack is powerful, be wary of it when it braces both legs.

Battle Information

Blade Attacking Tips:

  • The best way to kill Ogretails is to use melee attacks since they're extremely weak against all types of physical and elemental (except divine) blade attacks. Critical hits will always occur if you have a high damaging weapon, otherwise, above average hits will occur.
  • Divine blade attacks deal mediocre damage on Ogretails, so don't bother using it.

Gun Attacking Tips:

  • There is no point in wasting your OP on Ogretails even if they're extremely weak against all types of physical and elemental (except divine) gun attacks. Similar to melee attacks, critical hits will always occur if you have a high damaging gun, otherwise, above average hits will occur.
  • Divine gun attacks deal mediocre damage on Ogretails, so don't bother using it.

Status Resistances:

Condition Resistance Duration
Hold Standard Normal
Poison Standard Normal
Bind Standard Normal

Enraged Effects:

  • Ogretails cannot be enraged.

Unbounding Tips:

  • Ogretails have no unboundable parts.

Other Useful Tips:

  • Ogretails will fall to the ground after taking a large amount of damage. This gives the player an open opportunity for a devour attack or to deal more damage.
  • Ogretails will use a ranged attack move if you stray too far from them. When binded, their lunge attack is disabled, but watch out, they'll resort to continuously firing their ranged attack (even when in close range).
  • Ogretails usually appear with other larger aragami. When this happens, its best that you kill them first as they pose as a hindrance/distraction. You can also devour them before facing the main target to get a free burst and extra aragami bullets.
Additional Information
  • In the training missions, you fight simulation versions of this Aragami. As a result, it is very much weakened to ensure a successful training session.
  • There is a mission in the late stages of the game that allows you to obtain Ouroboros materials from a single Ogretail; however, this is a very unreliable way to do so. You're much better fighting an actual Ouroboros. The Ogretail on this mission is immune to gun attacks.
