Secret God Arc Techniques

Name Notes and Description Video Demonstration
Step Cancel Spam
  • A very popular technique for short blades that allows you to travel/move your character at high speeds and distances.
  • It allows you to traverse the field very quickly, evade attacks and/or run away from the Aragami.
  • To use this technique, execute the following steps:
  1. Perform a Step Forward.
  2. Press Square.
  3. Perform an Advance Step Forward.
  4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 until stamina is almost consumed.
  • You can slightly alter the direction of your steps but altering it too much would prevent you from continuing the technique's use.
  • Also, don't let your stamina get depleted or you will enter the "out of breath" status and become unable to move for a short period of time.
  • This technique can also be used when equipped with long blades but only if you are in Burst mode.

Double Mid-air Combo
  • A technique that allows you to double the number of mid-air square attacks you can perform using the short and long blade. You cannot execute this technique while using buster blades.
  • You also need to have access to your mid-air jump by equipping the skill or entering burst mode.
  • The benefit of this technique is the ability to double your aerial square attacks for additional damage. You can also evade certain Aragami ground attacks by extending your "air time" using this technique.
  • The following steps will allow you to use this technique:
  1. Perform an aerial square combo.
  2. During or after your aerial combo, press X before touching the ground to use your mid-air jump.
  3. After the mid-air jump, press square multiple times again in mid-air to perform your aerial square combo.
  • Using an aerial triangle attack before the mid-air jump will prevent you from using this technique.

Charge Crush Combo
  • A buster blade technique that allows you to swiftly connect two additional melee attacks after performing a Charge Crush. You can even connect a combo devour or form changing attack at the end of the combo.
  • The benefit in using this technique is simply the ability to perform a Charge Crush and combo devour together in one combo, allowing you to deal insane damage and attain/extend burst status at the same time.
  • You can also opt to connect 2 melee attacks or a form change attack instead for additional damage.
  • To perform this technique, simply follow these steps:
  1. Ready your Charge Crush by holding square and aim at your target.
  2. Once fully charged, release the square button and then quickly tap the circle or R button.
  3. Before Charge Crush lands or just after you press the circle or R button, immediately press any of the the melee attack buttons (square, triangle or R+X) to connect an additional melee attack. You can spam the melee attack buttons for easier execution.
  4. Connect another melee attack or combo devour normally.

Knockback Cancel
  • A technique that allows you to reduce or eliminate the knockback effect after blocking an attack.
  • Using this technique gives you more time to do whatever you want after an Aragami's attack.
  • Please take note that it is ideal to use this technique against one-hit attacks that leaves the Aragami open for counters.
  • It's easier to use this technique if your guard button configuration is set at a one press button instead of a button combination.
  • To use this technique you must:
  1. Block a one-hit attack. (Preferably "pillar/dome" attacks).
  2. Immediately release the guard button after taking the hit. Note that the timing here is very crucial and if not executed properly, it will result to either you getting hit or a reduced knockback effect instead of totally eliminating it.

Stagger Lock: Ranged
  • A technique wherein you aim and time your shots properly to make the Aragami continuously repeat their stagger animation.
  • Allows you to hinder an Aragami's movement while damaging them and preventing counter attacks. This also gives your team the chance to attack/devour without the risk of getting hurt.
  • Similar to Stagger Lock: Melee but easier to execute.
  • You will not be able to execute/contune using this technique once you run out of OP.

Stagger Lock: Melee
  • A technique wherein you aim and time your melee attacks properly to make the Aragami continuously repeat their stagger animation.
  • Allows you to hinder an Aragami's movement while damaging them and preventing counter attacks. This also gives your team the chance to attack/devour without the risk of getting hurt.
  • Similar to Stagger Lock: Ranged but more difficult to perform.

Down Lock
  • A technique wherein players' attacks are concentrated and properly timed to hit an Aragami's "Weak Point" part. This allows the players' to continuously inflict the Aragami with the Down status ailment without ever letting it get up to counter attack.
  • The advantages of using this technique is simply allowing you and your teammates attack an Aragami without getting hurt.
  • Also, each aragami has atleast 1 or 2 Down stances which exposes most of its parts to melee and projectile attacks.
  • If an Aragami has more than 1 "Weak Point" parts, each has a seperate "Down Counter" so if you want to use Down Lock, make sure you concentrate attacks to only on 1 specific "Weak Point" part.
  • The "Weak Point" parts of each Aragami and which attacks to use against it can be found in the "Other Useful Tips" section of the Aragami pages.

Knockback + Stagger Mechanism
  • Is an additional module that you can attach to any bullet formula. Its basic principle is simply described as "hitting yourself with your own bullet". In the demo video, It's attached to the advanced piercing bullet shot at the Gboro-Gboros. (Blue round laser that hits the player).
  • This technique allows you shoot bullets faster using Sniper/Blast Guns, reduces the recoil/knockback after firing a bullet, gives you a short invulnerability frame while being hit by your own bullet and negates the stamina cost of the trigger happy skill.
  • The bullet formula for Knockback + Stagger Mechanism can be found in the Bullets section of the wikia.

Rolling Fire
  • This is a simple gunner's technique that allows you to fire an Aragami Bullet on the ground without incurring the shooting delay when firing it normally.
  • There are many variations in this technique as shown in the video but the basic steps are the following:
  1. Aim at your target. (Make sure to consider the fact that you will move after rolling).
  2. Roll towards, sideways or away from your target while keeping your aim steady.
  3. Immediately fire your Aragami Bullet at the end of your roll.

Combo Cancel
  • A technique that allows you to skip combo stages and use combo devour earlier than normal.
  • The benefit is it allows you to quickly perform a devour without charging or finishing the end of your combo.
  • To execute this technique, simply follow these steps:
  1. Perform a melee attack and wait for the back swing animation.
  2. During the back swing animation, press the step button equal to the number of attack steps you want to skip (Short=3, Long=2, Buster=1).
  3. Perform a combo devour (R+Triangle). You can even set the direction you want to use by pressing the appropriate directional button.
  • Pressing the step button before the back swing animation of your melee attack will make the technique fail.
  • It's recommended that you set the step button configuration using one a press button instead of a combination press. Type B configuration users won't be able to use this technique.
  • Each attack has a different back swing time, the longer the back swing time the easier it is to execute this technique.
  • You can also use this technique in conjunction with the Charge Crush Combo, allowing you to perform a Charge Crush then immediately a combo devour afterwards in one fluid motion.
  • Lots of practice is required to use this technique.

General Gameplay Tips

  • Whenever an aragami runs aways and eats, follow them silently and devour them while they're eating for a free Burst and aragami bullets.
    • Aragami usually runs and eats at material salvage points on the map.
  • All Aragami have certain weak points that will inflict them with the Down status ailment with continuous attacks. You can find the weak points in the "Other Useful Tips" section of the Aragami pages. Be sure to take advantage of this during battle.
  • You can reduce the time it takes to ready charge crush and/or predator mode by releasing the button 0.4 seconds earlier than usual.
  • If an Aragami runs away using a shortcut in the map, you can lure them back to your position by shooting a custom bullet (e.g. IOD or Mole Bullet) at them or making a lot of noise nearby. Charge Crush, Devour Attack, Form Change and Jump are actions that generate a lot of noise so long as you don't equip the Muted skill. This also depends on the auditory senses of an Aragami you are fighting, which can be found in the "Other Useful Tips" section of the Aragami pages.
  • This was taught discreetly in the tutorial videos. You can reduce the backswing animation of any action by performing a jump, step or block. Using block regularly to reduce the backswing is highly recommended.
  • Aside from using the Rolling Fire technique as demonstrated above, another way to eliminate the delay when firing Aragami bullets is to shoot them whilst you are in mid-air.
  • There are instances wherein it is better to get hit by a multi-hit attack and stagger than blocking and depleting your stamina only to get hit at the end of the attack and die.
  • Use Aragami corpses to you advantage, you can replenish your OP by hitting them until they disappear. You can also prevent some projectile attacks from hitting you by hiding behind the corpse.
  • After killing the target Aragami, you can press start to skip the victory camera pan in order to give you more time to devour and salvage materials.
  • It's best to spam impulse edge whenever you are in Link Burst Mode Lv3 as you will never run out of stamina or OP.
  • When using buster blades, you can connect your aerial triangle attack to your aerial square attack if you perform the aerial square at the peak of your jump. After the aerial triangle is performed, you can also connect two more ground attacks for a complete four-hit combo.
  • You can cure Stunned allies by firing oracle or Aragami bullets at them. This also gives them short invulnerability from all attacks as they are staggering or knocked back from your friendly fire.
  • If you activated the Expanded Guard Area Skill, you can easily control the position where you want to be knocked back by simply blocking an attack while facing the opposite direction of your destination. Use this technique to get closer to the enemy after blocking a long range attack. This will not work against Auto Guarded attacks.
  • If you need money, kill Fallen Chi-Yous and farm for their Raven Spark Bone. It's a fairly common material drop that you can sell for a whopping 4,200fc each. Equip the Extractor Kit to increase your output of getting the item. Recommended mission for abusing this is the CH mission Summer Gnats, which has 2 Fallen Chi-Yous and 2 Sekhmets. It also has a Raven Spark Bone and 20,000fc as mission clear rewards.
